NEW POWER IN THE UK MAINTENANCE MARKET AS THE DERITEND GROUP BECOMES DERITEND INDUSTRIES
The expansion of one of the UK’s leading electro-mechanical repair and maintenance companies continues with a new corporate structure and a wider reaching portfolio.
Deritend Industries is now the central management and administration body for arguably the UK’s most focussed group of specialist commercial repair and maintenance support companies. Deritend Industries became official on 1stSeptember 2007, forming a £24m business with clear objectives, a highly skilled workforce and a strong divisional structure, allowing specialist areas of the business to maximise operational efficiency and effectiveness.
The changes are part of a resolute plan for growth being implemented by the current management team, following a management buy-out in 2001. The recent purchase of leading UK gearbox supply and repair specialist, RMB Engineering, now RMB Deritend a division of Deritend Industries, has been the catalyst for the structural changes. Deritend Industries also provides a platform for larger multi-discipline contracts to be negotiated centrally, making the bidding process more straight forward and providing a simpler view of the organisation to the customer.
Deritend Industries has evolved into a dedicated service provider to industry, with increasing movement towards maintenance service integration. The reduction in supplier numbers by large manufacturers and service organisations has also necessitated the consolidation of maintenance services into one group that can satisfy requirements across-the-board. The main business units now include: Deritend, RMB Engineering, Pre-Formed Windings, Induction Services and Machine Tool Services. All are represented on the new corporate website located at www.deritendindustries.com.
The expressed aim of Deritend Industries is to improve plant maintenance, increase efficiency, and reduce costs for its customers. The customer base ranges from NHS trusts to power stations and includes several of the UK’s major manufacturing sites, all of which rely on maintenance expertise, product supply and repair facilities from Deritend companies to remain safe, efficient and able to deliver.
Richard K. Hale, CEO Deritend Industries comments:
“Deritend Industries group companies now offer new replacement components, repairs and ongoing maintenance services for the majority of electro-mechanical equipment in commercial use today. Looking to the future, we will be expanding further with complementary additions to the group, and an ever more integrated approach to problem solving and the delivery of maintenance services.”
Group company specialisms include electric motors, power systems, drives and automation equipment, mechanical components and systems including gearboxes and bearings, through to pumps and metal fabrication work. Also included are pre-formed windings, induction furnace equipment and machine tool services.
All are solutions based services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Each of these 'core areas' require an exceptional level of skill to execute, with Deritend having the in-house capability, resource, knowledge and reputation to ensure competitive advantage. There are 14 branches and engineering workshops across the UK. Teams of Deritend engineers are also currently working both as an emergency call-out service and as permanent on-site personnel on customer sites throughout the UK and Europe.
