TRUE 24hr GEARBOX REPAIR, MACHINE SHOP & FABRICATION SERVICE
Now that the quarrying and related process industries are moving increasingly towards 24hr operation - the industry has a true 24hr maintenance support service to help ensure production is maintained no matter what the challenges. The RMB gearbox repair service operates 24hrs-a-day and 7 days-a-week, with a massive range of spares in-stock and the capacity to assemble new gearboxes and manufacture new gears and parts on site. The service is already being used extensively by several quarries across the UK, but RMB believes that with more awareness that this service is on offer, more sites could benefit.
The quarry and aggregate related industries are hard on mechanical equipment and RMB Engineering is used to keeping quarries, mines and processing plants running with specialist knowledge of gearboxes and power transmission components. From shaft mounted gear reducers to giant gearboxes driving ball mills and pulverisation equipment, RMB keeps specialist stock and expertise to hand in order to get plants up-and-running a quickly as possible.
Specialist stock is crucial at RMB, many non-standard components including large bearings, gear wheel castings and spares are kept in stock in order to make repairs as fast as possible. With a 24hr workshop, RMB can strip, repair and manufacture gearbox parts at any time of the day or night, so if a gearbox or bearing failure is affecting your production, call RMB to ensure downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.
RMB carries £1million of gearbox and related inventory, and operates as one of the few David Brown ‘Swift Centres’ in the UK, offering a range of modular build gearboxes from a stock of over 600 standard parts. RMB is also the only UK distributor to stock a range of worm gearboxes in modular format, David Brown Series G heavy duty reducer gearboxes in modular build format, and DB Series J shaft mounted speed reducers in modular format – all contributing to increased flexibility and reduced lead times to customers.
Fabrication & Machining
The fabrication department manufactures a wide range of metal structures and assemblies, ranging from automated furnace doors and emergency stairways to outdoor machine equipment structures and processing equipment. Valves, doors, actuators, mechanical linkages, mountings and power transmission components can all be precision machined, welded and assembled 24 hrs.
Flexibility and fast throughput times are key features for customers, having both the machine shop and the fabrication shop available 24hrs ensures turnaround times are minimised, while experience with different materials such as titanium, hardox, aluminium and steel are invaluable. Assemblies and gearboxes weighing up to 18 tonnes can also be accommodated.
