DERITEND’S MACHINE TOOL SERVICE IS DESIGNED TO ENABLE MANUFACTURERS TO GET MAXIMUM OUTPUT FROM THEIR MACHINES
Deritend is exhibiting its full range of machine tool support services at Mach 2006. The services are designed to enable manufacturers to get maximised productivity from their machine stock in three key ways. First, by providing a wide range of diagnostic techniques and planned maintenance programmes to identify - and put right - problems that could disrupt production. Second, by improving the performance of machine tools via retrofit services, mechanical and electrical overhauls. Third, by providing fast turn-around on breakdowns to ensure that machine downtime is minimised.

As part of machine evaluation programme Deritend applies some of the very latest inspection and analysis techniques. These techniques provide trending and analysis of operational data to help formulate preventative measures; they are also vital for maintaining accuracy, performance and quality levels, which prevent costly failures and reworking.
Designed to ensure the minimum disruption to production, Deritend’s machine evaluation programme appraises machine tools in detail for condition and capability, using a number of techniques such as laser calibration – including linear, pitch, yaw and roll, machine tool alignment and the Renishaw ballbar test.
The ballbar tests the performance of a machine tool. The test usually takes just a few minutes from start through to analysis and provides a selection of reports, which highlight any problems and their probable sources. If these problems result in a requirement for spare parts, then these can be supplied quickly from Deritend’s extensive stocks.
